Karla Schlaepfer-Karst promotes artful thinking in a variety of ways; from art exhibition openings, to designing pre-, while and post tasks for learning language through art in the museum, to individual aesthetic coaching.
Exhibition openings: introductory talks in which the artwork is placed in context and participants understand how they can look at and appreciate the presented art.
School ArtTalks: Courses designed for 7th grade school children and up, using approach of Content and Integrated Language Learning (CILL) with creative interactive tasks, role plays and worksheets for pre-, while and post- language teaching in the museum. Also integration of digital and video media. See “Napoleon News” class video competition.
Aesthetic coaching: Deepen your connection to contemporary and modern art. Refine and sharpen observation skills: Learn how the visual experience of art can empower change and help you think, communicate and mediate “outside of the box”. No prior knowledge of art is necessary.
